Birds

Each bird has its own:

• Base statistics.
• Class.
• Strengths and weaknesses.
• Passive ability.
• Utility options.
• Equipment choices.
• Combat style.

Different birds support different strategies, so experiment with your flock.

Rescued Nests & Eggs

During adventures you may discover rescued nests or eggs.

Open them to discover rewards such as:

• New Birds.
• Feathers.
• Bird upgrade materials.
• Other progression rewards.

Unlocking New Birds

If you discover a bird you have not collected before, it becomes available for use.

Duplicate Birds

Finding a bird you already own is still useful.

Duplicates can provide:

• Feathers.
• Upgrade materials.
• Other progression resources.

Feathers & Bird Upgrades

Feathers are used to improve your birds.

Adding feathers increases a bird's base statistics, making future adventures smoother and strengthening your favourite birds over time.

These upgrades are part of your permanent progression.

The Nest

The Nest is where you inspect and prepare your current bird.

You can open the Nest by:

• Selecting the Nest button.
• Tapping or clicking your bird during combat.

The Nest can show:

• Weapons.
• Armour.
• Accessories.
• Bird statistics.
• Skills.
• Feathers.
• Upgrades.
• Current equipment setup.

Equipment

Equipment plays a major role in how your bird fights.

Equipment can provide:

• Additional damage.
• Armour.
• Magic Armour.
• Stat bonuses.
• Ailment effects.
• Buffs.
• Debuffs.
• New attacks.
• New skills.
• Special effects.

Weapons are especially important because much of your available offence comes from your equipped weapons.

New equipment is worn automatically when the matching slot is empty. If that slot is already filled, the piece goes into the bag at the top of the Equipment tab so you can compare it with what you are wearing and swap.

Story Mode Equipment Rules

In Story Mode, equipment can only be changed outside of battle.

Once combat begins, your equipment loadout is locked until the battle is finished.

Opening the Nest During Battle

You can still open the Nest by tapping your bird during combat.

This lets you inspect your current build, but:

• Equipment cannot be changed while a battle is active.
• Equipment slots should appear locked until combat ends.

Preparing for Battle

Before entering an encounter, consider:

• What weapon am I using?
• Do I need more Armour or Magic Armour?
• Does my equipment support useful ailments?
• Do I have low-cost Energy options?
• Does this build suit my bird's class?
• Do I need more damage, defence or utility?

Prepare in the Nest. Adapt with your skills in battle.

How Combat Works

Combat is primarily 1v1 and turn-based.

You and your opponent take turns using:

• Weapon attacks.
• Skills.
• Utility abilities.
• Buffs.
• Debuffs.
• Ailments.
• Defensive abilities.

Energy — EN

Actions require Energy, shown as EN.

You can:

• Use several cheaper abilities.
• Spend Energy on a stronger attack.
• Use utility before attacking.
• Save Energy for later.
• Combine several actions in the same turn.

Managing Energy is one of the most important parts of combat.

Basic Attacks & Weapons

Your equipped weapon determines your basic combat attack.

Changing weapons can affect:

• Damage.
• Available attacks.
• Ailments.
• Energy costs.
• Combat strategy.

Some combinations may also create hybrid attacks.

Armour & Magic Armour

Your bird has two major protection types.

• Armour primarily protects against Physical threats.
• Magic Armour primarily protects against Magical threats.

Pay attention to:

• Health.
• Armour.
• Magic Armour.

Ailments

Attacks may apply ailments such as:

• Burn.
• Scorched.
• Poison.
• Toxic.
• Chilled.
• Frozen.
• Shock.
• Paralysis.
• Bleeding.
• Physical injuries.

Some ailments become more dangerous as additional stacks are applied.

Buffs & Debuffs

Utility skills can strengthen your bird or weaken your opponent.

They may affect:

• Damage.
• Defence.
• Speed.
• Evasion.
• Healing.
• Armour.
• Magic Armour.
• Other combat statistics.

Preparing Between Battles

Story Mode rewards preparation.

Before entering an encounter, check:

• Your selected bird.
• Weapons.
• Armour.
• Accessories.
• Upgrades.
• Skills.
• Supplies.

Remember: equipment cannot be changed once a battle begins.

Shops

Shops may appear throughout your journey.

They may sell:

• Weapons.
• Armour.
• Accessories.
• Consumables.
• Upgrade materials.
• Other supplies.

Consider what your current bird and build need most rather than simply purchasing the item with the largest numbers.

Adventure Rewards

Story Mode can reward you with:

• Equipment.
• Eggs.
• Rescued nests.
• Upgrade materials.
• Resources.
• New progression opportunities.

Choose Your Path

Endless Mode allows you to choose your route as you progress.

Different paths may lead to:

• Battles.
• Rewards.
• Shops.
• Events.
• Risks.
• Opportunities.

As you continue, enemies become increasingly dangerous.

Building Your Run

Choose routes based on what your current build needs.

You may want:

• Better equipment.
• More resources.
• A shop.
• A safer encounter.
• A stronger reward.

Your choices between battles are just as important as your decisions during combat.

Keeping Your Game Updated

Avian Ascent may receive regular updates including:

• Balance changes.
• New birds.
• New equipment.
• Bug fixes.
• Story updates.
• New features.

Returning After a Few Days?

If you have not played for several days:

1. Open Supplies.
2. Select Clear Cache.
3. Allow the game to reload.

This helps ensure your device is using the newest release.

Game Looking Strange?

If menus, images, buttons or other parts of the game display incorrectly:

1. Open Settings.
2. Return to the War Room.
3. If the problem remains, open Supplies.
4. Select Clear Cache.
5. Reload the game.

Opening Settings can sometimes help refresh the interface on certain devices.

Supplies — Clear Cache

Use Clear Cache when:

• Returning after several days away.
• A new version has been released.
• The interface looks incorrect.
• Menus are not displaying properly.
• Old content appears to still be loading.
• You think your device may be using an older build.

What's New?

A What's New? area can display:

• Current game version.
• New birds.
• New equipment.
• Balance changes.
• New areas or features.
• Important bug fixes.

Beginner Tips

• Check your Nest before important battles.
• Remember that Story Mode equipment is locked during combat.
• Tap your bird during battle to inspect the Nest.
• Manage your Energy instead of always using the most expensive attack.
• Pay attention to both Armour and Magic Armour.
• Ailments can become much stronger when stacked.
• Utility skills can be as important as damage.
• Experiment with different weapon combinations.
• Visit shops when your equipment begins falling behind.
• Rescue as many nests and eggs as possible.
• Duplicate birds are still valuable.
• Use feathers to strengthen your favourite birds.
• Try different birds rather than relying on only one.
• Choose Endless Mode paths based on what your current build needs.
• If the game looks wrong after an update, use Supplies → Clear Cache.
